Service Offerings

Having been an expat in Africa and completing my PhD in Psychology during our time abroad, has given me a deeply rooted understanding of the psychological needs of expats and in particular the accompanying expatriate partner. Moving from one country to another is traumatic for all parties involved. It takes great courage to leave the familiar behind and establish a newfound balance in a foreign environment without the security of having family and close friends nearby. It can be especially challenging when relocating to a third world country. One thing I learnt personally, is that we are much stronger than what we think we are - We are resilient, courageous and able to adjust despite numerous challenges offered by the host country.

I offer personal coaching and/or counseling before, during or after relocation in an effort to empower, uplift and increase the overall emotional well-being of expats. I have always worked within a positive psychology framework and believe that people are able to flourish, despite adversity. I see clients from a diverse background for a variety of reasons, such as:

  • The adjustment process of expatriation;
  • Identity issues (e.g. loss of a career and now being a stay-at-home parent)
  • Dealing with trauma;
  • Anxiety and depression;
  • When missing home is hitting hard

Book a session with me if you are struggling with any of the above challenges, or something else you’re struggling with while living abroad. I'm here to help.
